Garbage Collection

Due to mandates by the DNR, we as a town in 1999 were forced to go to full-town coverage of household garbage/recycling pickup. The two options for the Town were to operate a recycling drop-off point or to go to contracted garbage pickup.  A town recycling center was not an option for us since the town owns no land and has no employees.  To make it fair, all residents must now pay for garbage/recycling pickup contracted through the Town of Manitowoc.  Our contract is with Waste Management.

Starting in the year 2011 and in the future to simplify our garbage collection the town will no longer be taking advance garbage collections.  All garbage payments will be put on the next year's tax rolls.

Starting January 2022 Waste Management will collect garbage weekly and recyclables every other week.  Make sure to have your cart/carts placed at the roadside by 6:00 A.M. on Mondays for the South side of the town.  For the residents living on the North side, pick up will be on Thursdays, have your cart/carts at the roadside by 6:00 A.M.

If the garbage cart or recycle cart gets damaged, a wheel breaks off, or a cover comes off Contact Jeri Gilbert at 920-901-5072 and she will put you on a list to have it repaired. Keep the damaged cart on the outside of your garage so the maintenance guy has access to it.
